＜Day 6＞

  I had an English class today, and I studied Australian slang. There was a lot of slang that I didn’t know, so that was very fun for me. And my buddies were absent from school, so I was a little bit nervous. But everyone was really kind to me, so I could really enjoy school! The English class was really hard to understand, but it was a good experience for me. I want to do my best tomorrow, too.（１年女子 ）

  Today I went to school. I had a Japanese class. My classmates spoke Japanese very well, so I was surprised. I played UNO with them, and it was so much fun. In the afternoon, I went shopping with my host mother. I got some Ooshies, but I got only three Buzz Lightyears, so I was very disappointed. For dinner, I ate bolognese. It was very delicious and I loved it! （１年女子 ）

週末の2日間は、ホストファミリーと思い思いの時間を過ごしました。市場やショッピングモールでの買い物、国立公園の散策、動物園での散策など、各家庭で趣向を凝らしたおもてなしをしていただき、生徒たちはオーストラリアならではの週末を存分に満喫したようです。（詳しい様子は『Sunshine Coast Diary』Day 4, Day 5でもご紹介しています！）

Baringa高校周辺の魅力は何といっても、どこまでも広がる美しいビーチと豊かな自然。広大な海でサーフィンを楽しむ人々、心地よい風を感じながら海岸線をジョギングしたり、波の音を聴きながらゆったり過ごしたり……贅沢な時間が流れています。地元の方々からも「今の時期は1年で一番過ごしやすい最高の季節だよ！」と声をかけられるほど、恵まれた環境の中で滞在を楽しんでいます。

現地校での2日目を迎えた生徒たちは、本日も元気いっぱいに学校生活を送っています。 朝最初に行われた2時間のESL（英語学習）では、グループワークやプレゼンテーションにも自主的に手を取り、主体的に発言する姿が目立ちました。

オーストラリア特有の「Morning tea」やランチタイムでは、バディと軽食をともにしながらすっかり打ち解け、楽しそうに談笑する姿が校内のあちこちで見られました。

＜Day 5＞

   Today, I went to the zoo with my host family. We saw many animals such as koalas, crocodiles, snakes. I fed kangaroos and touched them, which was very exciting! After lunch, we watched a show. We saw birds flying and a crocodile moving. It was a little scary to see that. The zoo was huge, and I felt like being in the wild. While walking in the zoo, I saw many crocodile statues. We spent about 7 hours there. I walked a lot, so maybe I can have a good sleep tonight. （２年女子）

  Today, I had cereal for breakfast. After that, I watched Moana 2. Then, I went to the Big Pineapple and took some photos. It was much bigger than I expected! Next, I visited the zoo. I saw kangaroos, emus, koalas, dingoes, Tasmanian devils, monkeys, and wombats. It was exciting to see so many Australian animals. After that, I watched Hayden build a fence at home. Then, we went shopping, and I bought gifts for my basketball teammates before we went home. Before dinner, we had sushi and wasabi-flavored snacks. For dinner, we had roast lamb with vegetables. It was my first time eating lamb, and I liked it. For dessert, we had crème caramel.　 （２年女子）

  Today, I went to an Australian zoo. We saw the animals from a train, and there were so many of them. I was able to see many animals unique to Australia, such as kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and emus. Unlike in Japan, there was a lot of nature and many beautiful flowers and plants. I had a great time.  In the evening, I had roast lamb with my host family and their cousins. They are very funny and kind. I’m looking forward to going to school tomorrow!  （２年女子）

 ＜Day 4＞

Today was a day off, and my host family made Vegemite on toast for breakfast. We went to Kings Beach and a rainforest, and I had carbonara for lunch. In the evening, my host mother’s family came over, so the house was very lively and full of laughter. For dinner, I tried kangaroo and lamb for the first time. I took lots of beautiful photos, and I was very happy. It was a wonderful day. （２年女子）

Today, we made Kanji names for our host family. They were very happy about it, and we were happy too. We also talked about the Japanese language. Our host family asked us about the word "moshimoshi" and why Japanese has three kinds of writing systems: "Hiragana", "Katakana", and "Kanji". It was an interesting question that we had never thought about before. In particular, I also wondered why Kanji is so difficult for me. By the way, I went to the beach in "Mooloolaba". The name Mooloolaba has so many "o"s! It's a funny name. The beach was very, very beautiful. I want to live there someday!!  （２年女子）

I woke up early today to work out. Then, I went to Ginger Park to learn about the history of ginger, try some samples, and listen to how honey is made. After having a hamburger, I visited a beautiful beach, played basketball, and took a nap with a cat.　（２年男子）

＜Day 1＞

Today, we took a flight from Osaka and arrived at Changi Airport after traveling 5,418 kilometers. The airport was so massive that we had to use the skytrain to get around and ask several people for directions. Thanks to that, we were able to try a Singapore-exclusive Starbucks drink!（２年女子）

 There were so many shops to explore. I found plenty of things I’d love to buy on my way back to Japan, though with the weak yen, everything felt a bit expensive! People around us were speaking many different languages, which really made

me realize how multicultural Singapore is.（２年女子）

Unfortunately, I couldn't visit the Jewel or the indoor gardens, which made me a little sad, but I had an exciting day overall. I'm looking forward to making tomorrow another great day, and I can't wait for our upcoming language training in Australia! （２年女子）

＜Day 2＞

Today, we arrived at the airport at 6:00. Afterward, we went to a shopping mall and heard an alarm. Since it’s quite rare, we were really surprised! We also visited The University of Queensland (UQ), where many students from all over the world study. I saw many kinds of birds in the city and truly felt Australian nature. Later, I met my host family. We played board games together. They were so cute!　（２年女子）

Today, I went to UQ. There were a lot of nature and wild birds. I felt the differences between Japan and Australia. Also, when I went sightseeing in Brisbane, I was able to buy what I wanted. I was so happy. In the evening, I played with my host family's children. They were very cute. I felt so refreshed and happy.　（２年女子）

We arrived in Australia today.　First, we visited The University of Queensland, and a university student showed us around.　After that, we went shopping and bought some souvenirs.  In the evening, we met our host family.They were very kind to us.　I am a bit nervous, but I will do my best.　（２年女子）

＜Day 3＞

Today, I visited a local high school. First, the students showed us around the school. After that, I met my buddy. We attended classes and ate lunch together. Then, we gave a presentation about our own high school. After I went back to home, my host family took me to the beach, which was absolutely beautiful! We ate fish and chips at a restaurant near the beach. I did so many different things today and had a great time!　 （２年女子）

I went to school in Australia for the first time, so I was very nervous. However, I had a great time because my buddy was very friendly. I attended an art lesson, but I couldn’t understand what the teacher was saying. Even so, it was an interesting experience. I also tried a meat pie, and it was delicious. After school, I went to Moffat Beach with my host family and saw a beautiful view.　（２年男子）

Today I went to a college in Brisbane. I met my buddy. She was very kind and funny. What surprised me was that her future dream is the same as mine. We talked a lot, so I could practice my English well. After that, I made a teddy bear with my host mother, and I watched a movie with my host family. Today was a very happy day!　 （２年女子）

本日は、バリンガ高校での学校生活初日を迎えました。生徒たちはホストファミリーに学校まで送っていただき、それぞれ少し緊張した表情を見せながらも元気に登校しました。

午前中は、校長先生をはじめとする先生方から歓迎のご挨拶をいただき、その後、現地の生徒によるウェルカムツアーで校内を案内していただきました。広々としたキャンパスを見学しながら、学校の施設や雰囲気に触れ、生徒たちはこれから始まる学校生活への期待を膨らませている様子でした。

続いて英語の授業のオリエンテーションが行われた後、バディとの初対面となりました。ウェルカムモーニングティーでは、バディと会話を楽しみながら交流を深め、その後は一緒に授業へ参加しました。最初は緊張していた生徒たちも、バディが優しく声をかけてくれたことで、少しずつ笑顔が見られるようになりました。

ランチの後は学校交流の時間となり、御影高校について紹介するとともに、日本の文化や習慣についてクイズ形式で紹介しました。また、御影高校の校歌と御影体操も披露しました。その後ゲームを通して現地の生徒たちとの交流を深め、会場は終始和やかな雰囲気に包まれていました。

 初日のプログラムは予定どおり順調に終了し、生徒たちは充実した表情でホストファミリーのもとへ帰宅しました。これからホームステイや学校生活を重ねる中で、英語力だけでなく、異文化への理解やコミュニケーション力をさらに深めていくことを期待しています。

飛行機は定刻より少し早くオーストラリアに到着しました。機内では映画を楽しんでいる人もいましたが、多くの人がしっかりと睡眠を取り、到着後の活動に備えていました。

到着後は、クイーンズランド大学（UQ）のキャンパスツアーに参加しました。現地の大学生がグループごとにキャンパス内を案内してくれました。広大な敷地には緑があふれ、美しく整備された環境が印象的でした。また、UQはオーストラリアを代表する伝統と実績を誇る名門大学であり、生徒たちは大学の歴史や学びの環境について興味深く話を聞いていました。ツアーの途中では、担当してくれた大学生と一緒にカフェでモーニングティーを楽しみました。英語で会話をしながら交流を深めることができ、生徒たちにとって貴重な異文化交流の時間となりました。

その後、ブリスベン市内観光を行いました。Queen's Wharf Brisbane（クイーンズ・ワーフ・ブリスベン）の Sky Deckでは、ガラス床の展望エリアから眼下に広がる景色を眺めながら、ブリスベンの街並みを一望しました。生徒たちはスリルを味わいながら、美しい景色を楽しんでいました。続いて中心街へ移動し、それぞれがショッピングやランチを楽しみ、オーストラリアの雰囲気を満喫しました。

午後はバスで約2時間移動し、現地校であるバリンガ高校へ向かいました。学校ではホストファミリーとの対面式が行われ、ホストファミリーの皆さんは温かい笑顔で生徒たちを迎えてくださいました。最初は少し緊張した様子も見られましたが、それぞれが笑顔でホストファミリーとあいさつを交わし、新しい生活への期待を胸に、それぞれの家庭へと出発していきました。オーストラリアでの生活がいよいよ始まります。これからの学校生活やホームステイを通して、多くのことを学び、実りある研修となることを期待しています。

　本日、御影公会堂にて本年度１回目の文理探究科説明会をおこないました。午前と午後合わせて200名近くの中学3年生と保護者の方に参加いただきました。

　学校の概要説明のあとに文理探究科の２年生による体験授業が行われました。この体験授業は、生徒自らが企画し司会・運営まで自分たちで行いました。参加された方の感想を一部紹介します。

　参加された方の多くが参考になった文理探究科説明会になったようで嬉しい限りです。

令和8年度7月21日(月)に結団式を終え、7月22日(水)からオーストラリア語学研修旅行が始まりました。朝の8時に関西国際空港に集合し、保護者の方と校長先生に見送られながらオーストラリアへと旅立ちました。

　本日、終業式がおこなわれました。校長先生から「やり直し」はできないが「見直し」はできるという話がありました。夏休みの期間を利用して1学期の学習や日頃の生活を見直すようにしましょう。

　表彰伝達式では、男女バレーボール部の優秀選手、山岳部への表彰があり、その後、壮行会では全国大会に出場する放送特別委員会と新聞特別委員会への激励がおこなわれました。御影生はさまざまな場面で活躍しています。

　また、明日からオーストラリアへ語学研修に出発する参加生徒の結団式・壮行会がおこなわれました。新しい言語や文化に触れ、多くのことを学んできてくれることを期待しています。充実した研修となりますように！
