＜Day 9＞　

　In the morning class, we wrote letters to our buddies and host families. I am very grateful to them. After that, I enjoyed playing volleyball with many people. It was really fun! For lunch, we made Lamingtons and then enjoyed afternoon tea together. In the last class, we performed our dances. I was glad that the Australian students enjoyed them. I also took many pictures with my buddy. I think today was the best day!　 （１年男子 ）

　It has finally come. Today was our last day of school. In the first ESL class, we wrote letters to our host families and buddies. I wrote a three-page letter to my host family. Finally, the Farewell Party began! During the video presentation, wonderful photos from the past five days were shown on the screen, bringing back various memories. During the dance time, we danced to "YORUNO ODORIKO" and "GANGNAM STYLE." We were so excited! Then came the time to say goodbye. I talked with my buddy for the last time and took many photos. I heard that my buddy and his friends are coming to Kobe in November, so we promised to meet again then! Tomorrow, I will finally say goodbye to my dear host family and return to Japan.　 （１年男子 ）

本日のESLクラスでは、ホストファミリーをはじめ、これまでお世話になった方々へ感謝を伝えるメッセージカードの制作を行いました。これまでの思い出や経験を振り返りながら、生徒たちは一枚一枚心を込めて一生懸命に言葉を綴っていました。ESL担当のジュディ先生、キアニ先生とも別れを惜しみながら、充実したESLの授業が締めくくられました。

休み時間には現地のクラスメイトたちが、日本語で書かれた手紙を届けてくれるという嬉しいサプライズがありました！驚くほど日本語が上手に書かれており、国境を越えた温かい心の交流に胸がいっぱいになりました。研修中最後のモーニングティーの時間には、バディたちが迎えに来てくれ、みんなで名残惜しくも素晴らしいひとときを一緒に過ごしました。

Cookingの授業では、オーストラリアの伝統的なお菓子「ラミントン」作りに挑戦しました。英語での指示やレシピを見ながらの初めての料理に、生徒たちはワクワクしながら楽しそうに取り組んでいました。先生の楽しいご指導のもと、とても美味しそうに完成し、この後のフェアウェルパーティーでバディと一緒にいただく予定です。

＜Day 8＞

  We tried Aboriginal art. We expressed our ideas using dots, which was really interesting. We also learned about Australian celebrations. I haven't seen Cockroach Races yet. After school, I went to the closest beach with my host family. Everyone bought hazelnut ice cream. We ate it on the sand with a very beautiful view. We took a picture of ourselves with the sunset. We had a barbecue for dinner. My host father cooked beef in the yard. We ate it with salad at home. We had a great day.  （１年女子 ）

  In the morning, I practiced dancing with my friends at school. During class, I went to an art class. The teacher was interesting and kind, and the lesson was unique and fun. During lunchtime, I played basketball and handball with my buddy and other students. After I got home, I cooked dinner for my host family. I was happy because they enjoyed it.   Today, I tried Aboriginal art in my class for the first time. Aboriginal art is often painted with many dots. I painted a beach and a sunset. It was difficult for me to make the size of the dots uniform, but Aboriginal art tells stories about nature, food, animals, and more. Telling a story with just one picture isn't easy, but I really enjoyed creating it.　 （１年男子 ）

今日は、オーストラリアの文化や歴史に触れる貴重な体験をしました。

美術の授業では、オーストラリアの先住民族であるアボリジニの文化について先生から説明を受けた後、ドットアートの制作に取り組みました。 アボリジニのアートは、単なる模様ではなく、実は「文字」の代わりなのだそうです。描かれるストーリーは、世界の始まりを伝える神話（ドリームタイム）や、大切な水場の位置を示す地図、そして生きるための知恵と深く結びついています。また、無数の「点（ドット）」で描くのは、部族の神聖な秘密を隠して守るため、という説もあると聞き、その奥深さに驚きました。生徒一人ひとりが自分だけのストーリーを考えながら、オリジナリティあふれる作品を描いています。

 午前中のESLの授業では、ペアワークを通してオーストラリアのユニークなイベントである「クレイジー・ボート・レース（Crazy Boat Race）」や「ゴキブリ・レース（Cockroach Races）」について学び、日本との文化や生活様式の違いについて意見を交わしました。日常会話だけでなく、現地の文化や習慣の深掘りを通じて、より広い視野で学びを深めています。

午後は、学校近く（Baringa高校から見えます）の「グラスハウス・マウンテンズ」に伝わるアボリジニの伝説（ドリーミング）について学ぶ英語アクティビティを行いました。

ホワイトボードに貼られた英文を覚えてペアの相手に口頭で伝える伝言形式で行い、生徒たちは何度も教室を行き来しながら協力して取り組んでいました。大変そうにしながらも終始楽しそうな表情が印象的でした。

午前中に学んだ「ドットアートのストーリー（神話）」と実際の景色がリンクし、オーストラリアの風土や文化の奥深さを肌で感じる貴重な体験となりました。

＜Day 7＞

  Today, I went to school. I had English and P.E. classes. In English class, I was happy to eat snacks and it was fun to learn about Australia through games and studying Australian animals. During the break, I played badminton with my friends, which was a lot of fun. In P.E. class, I played a sport similar to handball. It was my first time, so I didn't really understand the rules at first. However, as I enjoyed playing with my buddy and friends, I eventually understood them. （１年女子 ）

   After school, I went to the shopping center. I bought a lot of snacks and building blocks. I also bought lots of souvenirs for my family and friends, and I hope they like what I chose for them. When I got home, I built a character using those blocks. I'm glad I bought them because it was so much fun. It was another lovely day!　（１年女子 ）

  This morning, I ate Greek yogurt and mandarins. After that, I went to school and studied Australian animals. Next, I played volleyball and badminton with my buddy. That was so much fun. In English class, I completed a chart with my buddy and their friends. I was happy that we created such a good table. In the afternoon, I made somen noodles. I was glad to see my host family enjoying them. That was a great experience for me. （１年女子 ）

朝の小雨から一転して晴れ渡る爽やかな気候の中、生徒たちは本日も元気に研修へ参加しています。

午前中はESL（英語授業）に取り組みました。昨日以上に積極的に発言する姿が見られ、ゲームも交えた参加型の授業を全員で楽しんでいます。ちなみに昨日の授業ではオーストラリアならではのスラング（方言・俗語）を学んだため、さっそくホストファミリーとの会話で使ってみるなど、学んだことを実践する頼もしい場面もありました。

ESLの授業が終わるとバディたちが笑顔で迎えに来てくれ、すっかり打ち解けた様子で一緒にモーニングティーの時間を楽しみました。中にはオーストラリアならではのお菓子や食べ物をプレゼントしてもらい、嬉しそうに味わう姿も見られました。

その後はバディの通常授業（英語、技術など、体育など）に一緒に参加しました。現地校の授業はスピードも早く難解な部分もありますが、バディが隣で優しくサポートしてくれるため、安心して学びを深められています。ランチタイムには、バディと一緒にバドミントンやバスケットボール、サッカーを楽しみ、スポーツを通じてさらに絆を深めました。

また、今回は日本語を学んでいる現地の交流校の中学生との交流プログラムを実施しました。前回の高校生向けに続き、御影高校の紹介をはじめ、日本文化クイズ、校歌の披露、そして御影体操を一緒に行いました。オーストラリアには全員で揃って行う体操の文化がないため、非常に興味深そうに、そして中学生らしく全身で力いっぱいに参加してくれました。全体活動の後はグループに分かれ、楽しく会話やゲームで交流を深めました。

放課後になっても「もっと一緒に過ごしたい！」とバディから声をかけられるほどすっかり仲良くなり、充実した一日となったようです。生徒たちが現地で生き生きと活動し、成長している様子が伝わります。

＜Day 6＞

  I had an English class today, and I studied Australian slang. There was a lot of slang that I didn’t know, so that was very fun for me. And my buddies were absent from school, so I was a little bit nervous. But everyone was really kind to me, so I could really enjoy school! The English class was really hard to understand, but it was a good experience for me. I want to do my best tomorrow, too.（１年女子 ）

  Today I went to school. I had a Japanese class. My classmates spoke Japanese very well, so I was surprised. I played UNO with them, and it was so much fun. In the afternoon, I went shopping with my host mother. I got some Ooshies, but I got only three Buzz Lightyears, so I was very disappointed. For dinner, I ate bolognese. It was very delicious and I loved it! （１年女子 ）

週末の2日間は、ホストファミリーと思い思いの時間を過ごしました。市場やショッピングモールでの買い物、国立公園の散策、動物園での散策など、各家庭で趣向を凝らしたおもてなしをしていただき、生徒たちはオーストラリアならではの週末を存分に満喫したようです。（詳しい様子は『Sunshine Coast Diary』Day 4, Day 5でもご紹介しています！）

Baringa高校周辺の魅力は何といっても、どこまでも広がる美しいビーチと豊かな自然。広大な海でサーフィンを楽しむ人々、心地よい風を感じながら海岸線をジョギングしたり、波の音を聴きながらゆったり過ごしたり……贅沢な時間が流れています。地元の方々からも「今の時期は1年で一番過ごしやすい最高の季節だよ！」と声をかけられるほど、恵まれた環境の中で滞在を楽しんでいます。

現地校での2日目を迎えた生徒たちは、本日も元気いっぱいに学校生活を送っています。 朝最初に行われた2時間のESL（英語学習）では、グループワークやプレゼンテーションにも自主的に手を取り、主体的に発言する姿が目立ちました。

オーストラリア特有の「Morning tea」やランチタイムでは、バディと軽食をともにしながらすっかり打ち解け、楽しそうに談笑する姿が校内のあちこちで見られました。

＜Day 5＞

   Today, I went to the zoo with my host family. We saw many animals such as koalas, crocodiles, snakes. I fed kangaroos and touched them, which was very exciting! After lunch, we watched a show. We saw birds flying and a crocodile moving. It was a little scary to see that. The zoo was huge, and I felt like being in the wild. While walking in the zoo, I saw many crocodile statues. We spent about 7 hours there. I walked a lot, so maybe I can have a good sleep tonight. （２年女子）

  Today, I had cereal for breakfast. After that, I watched Moana 2. Then, I went to the Big Pineapple and took some photos. It was much bigger than I expected! Next, I visited the zoo. I saw kangaroos, emus, koalas, dingoes, Tasmanian devils, monkeys, and wombats. It was exciting to see so many Australian animals. After that, I watched Hayden build a fence at home. Then, we went shopping, and I bought gifts for my basketball teammates before we went home. Before dinner, we had sushi and wasabi-flavored snacks. For dinner, we had roast lamb with vegetables. It was my first time eating lamb, and I liked it. For dessert, we had crème caramel.　 （２年女子）

  Today, I went to an Australian zoo. We saw the animals from a train, and there were so many of them. I was able to see many animals unique to Australia, such as kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and emus. Unlike in Japan, there was a lot of nature and many beautiful flowers and plants. I had a great time.  In the evening, I had roast lamb with my host family and their cousins. They are very funny and kind. I’m looking forward to going to school tomorrow!  （２年女子）

 ＜Day 4＞

Today was a day off, and my host family made Vegemite on toast for breakfast. We went to Kings Beach and a rainforest, and I had carbonara for lunch. In the evening, my host mother’s family came over, so the house was very lively and full of laughter. For dinner, I tried kangaroo and lamb for the first time. I took lots of beautiful photos, and I was very happy. It was a wonderful day. （２年女子）

Today, we made Kanji names for our host family. They were very happy about it, and we were happy too. We also talked about the Japanese language. Our host family asked us about the word "moshimoshi" and why Japanese has three kinds of writing systems: "Hiragana", "Katakana", and "Kanji". It was an interesting question that we had never thought about before. In particular, I also wondered why Kanji is so difficult for me. By the way, I went to the beach in "Mooloolaba". The name Mooloolaba has so many "o"s! It's a funny name. The beach was very, very beautiful. I want to live there someday!!  （２年女子）

I woke up early today to work out. Then, I went to Ginger Park to learn about the history of ginger, try some samples, and listen to how honey is made. After having a hamburger, I visited a beautiful beach, played basketball, and took a nap with a cat.　（２年男子）
