Open High School Report

On the 25th and 26th of August 2022, Yamasaki High school held their Open High School special event. Junior High School students from the surrounding areas of Shiso, Tatsuno, and Himeji, came to experience High School life.

After a welcoming ceremony with a warm welcome from Principal Takeda, the students came to classes to experience exhibition lessons. They could chose to participate in Japanese, Math, Social Studies, English, and Science lessons, whichever lessons interested them the most.

In the English class, the first activity we shared was introducing ourselves to each other. Students enjoyed introducing themselves in English to new people in the class. Then the students were shown how to express themselves in English, using words they are already familiar with.

Students were able to quickly share ideas together using tablets which projected their ideas directly to the classroom screen.

After the exhibition classes, Junior High School students came to see all the wonderful club activities, Yamasaki High School has to offer. From popular sports clubs like Baseball, Volleyball, and Badminton, to cultural clubs such as Tea Ceremony, Flower arranging, and E.S.S., prospective students have a wide array of exciting clubs to thrive in.

It was a privilege to meet the Junior High Students who attended Yamasaki High School’s Open High School event, and we hope to welcome them to Yamasaki High School next spring.
