Yamasaki High School Cultural Festival Report

On Friday the 16th of June, Yamasaki High School held their annual cultural festival. It was the first time in three years that the festival could be celebrated fully, without the pandemic’s restrictions.

The cultural festival is a fabulous time when the school can celebrate the rich diversity of artistic activities and talents of students at Yamasaki High School.

Students and guests were treated to a wonderful array of activities, displays, refreshments and performances created by the students themselves. There were exciting carnival games to play, and gorgeous exhibitions of flowers, art, and photography. There were photo spots and a wide array of cooked food for people to enjoy together. The food available included delicious waffles, yakitori, Frankfurt sausages, ice cream, fried potatoes and takoyaki. In addition 3rd grade students performed dance routines, and this year Yamasaki High School was able to hold the chorus competition once again, performed by each class in the first and second grades.

Each of the five classes in the first and second grades arranged a chorus and performed them enthusiastically on stage in the preliminary round. After the performances the judges tallied their scores, and five classes advanced to the final stage. After beautiful performances by the five finalists, Class 2-5 were declared the deserving winners!

Over 200 parents came to the event and enjoyed themselves along with the students. Each grade, class, and individual enjoyed themselves immensely, and the entire school had a great day of fun and excitement.
